3 Different Las Vegas Wedding Invitation Themes

by Renae Judkins

Las Vegas wedding invitations were hard to find less than a year ago, but since then not only have hundreds of Las Vegas wedding invitations sprung online, but different Las Vegas wedding invitation themes have as well. We will show 3 different Las Vegas wedding invitation themes.

The first Las Vegas wedding invitation theme is the most obvious and most popular. It is none other than the Las Vegas welcome sign. The bright lights of the sign are the theme of more than half of the Las Vegas wedding invitations in existence. Graphic designers who design the Las Vegas wedding invitations with the Las Vegas welcome sign have even taken the theme even further by creating the welcome sign in different colors ranging from baby pinks to bright yellows, oranges and reds. The welcome sign is no longer considered tacky on the Las Vegas wedding invitations created because some of the most elegant Las Vegas themed wedding invitations feature the welcome sign in black and white on beautiful translucent overlays.

The second Las Vegas wedding invitation theme that is also quite popular, but not quite as popular as the Las Vegas welcome sign, is the theme of the Las Vegas city lights. The bright lights of the strip are on at least a fourth of the Las Vegas style invitations. While this may seem like a pretty simple theme for a Las Vegas style invitation, it is as diverse as the Las Vegas welcome sign. The colors of the strip have been altered so that Las Vegas invitations can feature the strip lights in an elegant black and white as well as pinks and purples for the girly, cutesy invitations. The lights of Las Vegas can be found in nearly every collection of Las Vegas wedding invitations including the recently announced Sephora Collection and Paprika Collection, both which can be found at vegaswedlockinvitations.com.

The third Las Vegas wedding invitation theme consists of palm trees. Palm trees are quite common for any destination wedding invitation and Las Vegas wedding invitations are no different. While not as popular as the welcome sign and the city lights, it is definitely a hot theme for Las Vegas wedding invitations. However, there is a catch to this theme. For a Las Vegas wedding invitation to truly be a Las Vegas style invitation, it must feature Las Vegas and a palm tree doesn’t do that because palm trees grow in many areas of the world. Thus, the third most popular Las Vegas wedding invitation theme includes a Las Vegas phrase somewhere on the invitation with the palm tree. The most popular Las Vegas wedding invitation wording phrase was coined by VegasWedlockInvitations.com when they started their business in January of 2006 which is “What Happens in Vegas … Stays in our Hearts.”

The fourth Las Vegas wedding invitation theme varies according to a Las Vegas couple’s wedding venue. A new Las Vegas wedding invitation collection titled “location” features photos of many Las Vegas wedding chapels and venues like the famous Little White Wedding Chapel. The Bellagio, Paris, Venetian, Mirage, Monte Carlo, Mandalay Bay, MGM, Luxor and the Excalibur are just a few of the Las Vegas wedding chapels and Las Vegas wedding venues that the new collection features.

Many Las Vegas wedding invitation companies carry the themes that we have mentioned. Simply search google for “invitations ‘name’ collection” to find a retailer of the collections. For example, for those searching for the Las Vegas wedding invitation collection “Sephora” one would search: invitations Sephora collection.

Las Vegas wedding couples can also find these collections at vegaswedlockinvitations.com.

Free Wedding Speech Tips to Get You Started

by Chelsea Aubin

Performing a Wedding Speech in front of hundreds of people can be almost unbearable. To some, it may seem almost second nature but to others this act is almost the most extreme torture. It makes no difference if you know everyone in the room or you are unfamiliar with everyone, this stressful situation is enough to make the strongest of men and women loose many a nights sleep dreading having to do this.

Here are some effective free wedding speech tips to help you settle those rampaging nerves:

Keep it Short:

If you are not comfortable in this type of situation then why make it painful for everyone. Do not try to compare yourself to those professional sounding speakers that share for 20 minutes and has the crowd roaring with laughter at one minute and the next every eye in the room flowing with tears. These people either have practice at this or are just naturally comfortable in front of others. The majority of time however, long speeches are painful. Keep it 5 minutes max and if it is less then that fine.

Watch the Humor:

Are you good at telling jokes. If the answer is no then chances are you want to keep them out of your wedding speech. Everyone wants to be liked and it is great to make others laugh but so often someone will stumble through a joke, often saying the punch line by mistake right away and if lucky will get one or two pity laughs from a family member. If however you are good at telling jokes, then go for it. But please, keep it clean and do not in any way think that offending people is just good clean fun.

Welcome People:

This is especially important for the groom. When making a speech it is extremely wise to express sincere gratitude for your new inlaws. Tell them in a sincere and clean way how wonderful they have done with their daughter, how much you respect them for who and what they are and use this opportunity to get in their good books.

Complement Others:

Personalize your speech by mentioning the names of every person in the wedding party and saying one nice thing about each of them. People love to be complimented and this works well, especially focus on the bride and groom. If this is the groom making the wedding speech then mention specifically how amazing your new bride looks.

Stand Up Straight:

Unless you have a disability that deems this necessary, while delivering your wedding speech, do not sit, lean or crouch while delivering it. Stand tall, straight and proud and delivery your speech with enthusiasm and show that you take this event very serious and are very proud that you have the opportunity to share.

The most important free wedding speech tip I can offer is this: Be Prepared

Do not in anyway take this free wedding speech tip lightly and think that you can just wing this and it will be a hit. Do not be lazy and do not be inconsiderate of others. By simply winging it you are insulting everyone in the wedding because you are showing that you really do not care about this and your time is way too important to bother wasting it in preparation for a speech. Write your speech out and rehearse it. The better you know your wedding speech by heart, the better you will do and the added advantage of that is you will virtually eliminate your stress. You will know in advance you have a great wedding speech.

Making Wedding Cakes Is No Cakewalk For The Cake Maker!

by Javier Fuller

One of the “preparations” in the Christian Wedding that demands utmost attention and comments from the guests is the making of wedding cake! It is also one of the items of wedding photographer’s paradise. He would click it from several angles.

After all, a skilled cake designer makes a lasting impact on the guests. His visiting card will be demanded by many, if the taste is extraordinary!

You have to be a creative artist to be a good cake-maker. You will have your briefing from the groom/bride, but that is only one part. You have to form a total picture, taking into consideration their suggestions and views. The important question of the day would be, “Who made the cake?”

If it is a frown, you are out. If it is a smile, you are most welcome!

In theme weddings, the importance of the cake matters a lot. In medieval cakes, it is done with pearls and a golden crown. The adventure-loving couple prefer a bike or a helicopter or a plane! A diamond lover, more exactly a diamond merchant would like to have a big diamond, on the wedding cake.

In Victorian Weddings, a bow or rose qualities of that era could be well engrossed on the cake. It can contain anything. From a simple beautiful rose, bird-of-paradise, sunflower, replica of the bridal bouquet to anything of the latest craze and appeal!

The appeal of the season also counts. What the designer would do for a cake in summer would not be executed in the winters.

Indeed the cake-planning is done weeks in advance. The cake-maker like to make each marriage, each cake, memorable. It is his business as well as personal satisfaction. If he can make hundreds of hearts happy, I think that it is his best reward.

Making a wedding cake is no cakewalk for the cake-maker! Till the last moment, he has his anxieties unrest!

A wedding cake is not complete, without the wedding cake topper. It is the final round for completion of the cake. Here again, the choice before the cake-maker is endless. Interlocking hearts, rings, doves and the material used for topper can be glass or porcelain. It will most probably occupy a pivotal place in your showcase, as the souvenir of your wedding.

In fine line, what is a wedding cake? It is a mixture of beauty, skill and imagination- and your reward! The appreciation of the bride and the groom!

Wedding Cost Saving Advice: Top 5 Tips For Weddings On A Shoestring Budget

by Helen Rankin

With the average wedding now costing £17,000, many couples are now looking for ways to have a ‘celebrity’ stylish wedding, without the celebrity price tag. The first tip is simple – ask for a discount. The worst that can happen is that they say ‘No’. You might be a bit embarrassed, but what have you lost? We’ve pulled together 5 other top tips to help you create your dream wedding on a shoestring
budget.

1. Choosing The Wedding Venue

Your venue is probably going to be the single biggest wedding expense that you’ll have to pay, with many of the more popular venues charging £2000 upwards. But you don’t need to spend this sort of money to have a fabulous venue.

Wedding Venue Cost Saving Tip:

Many village halls, golf and rugby clubs have suitable rooms available for a fraction of the price. The trick is to see past the existing décor and imagine it sprinkled with hundreds of fairy lights or candles – think of Ross’s wedding on the hit show Friends that Rachel ruined!

If you’ve found the wedding venue of your dreams, but it looks as if it will be out of your budget, don’t despair. Many venues offer significant discounts for mid-week or ‘out of season’ weddings which can run into thousands of pounds.

2. Food At The Wedding

Deciding what kind of menu you want to offer for your wedding can be difficult enough without having to see the price tag that goes along with it!

Food Budget Cost Saving Tip:

There are lots of ways to cut back on your food budget, and still have a memorable day. Selecting a venue where you can bring in your own caterers is often a much better value than using the existing venue catering. You can even go as far as preparing all the food yourself, though be careful of taking too much.

If you don’t have a choice about which caterer you use, there are still ways that you can trim your spending costs. Try replacing the starter course with canapés, instead of having both. Or, replace dessert with your wedding cake – so often wedding cake gets forgotten about because guests have already had so much to eat.

A new idea that brides are buzzing about is the wedding ‘cheese’ cake. Literally, it is three slabs of cheese turned into a wedding cake for that special ‘cutting of the cake’ photograph and ceremony. Why not combine the two instead of having a separate cheese and cake course? Or serve this with crackers, chutney and pate for your evening guests?

3. Drinks At The Wedding

To have a free bar, or cash bar? Such a difficult question to answer. Of course, it would be fantastic to offer a free bar to all your guests, all day, but with limited funds, it’s not a realistic option for most people.

Booze Budget Cost Saving Tip:

The ideal in this instance is to use a venue where you can bring your own booze. I was lucky enough to be able to do this at our wedding and managed to pop across to France and buy 180 bottles of wine and 240 beers, plus Pimms and cassis for under £500. We had stacks left and our guests were restricted to beer, wine or soft drinks, but no one seemed to mind.

Another option is to come to an arrangement with the hotel regarding corkage. A friend got married in a hotel, which charged £10 per bottle of wine. She arranged a flat fee of £500 for all of her beer and wine opening. Although it seems like a lot, it meant that she could afford to supply beer and wine for her guests.

4. Bridalwear

With most bridal dresses starting around £600 and running into thousands of pounds, this is a huge expense.

Bridalwear Cost Saving Tip:

You can still look fabulous for a fraction of the price and feel that you’re minimising the eco-footprint of your wedding by buying a ‘pre-loved’ wedding dress.

Many charity shops have specialist ‘bridalwear’ departments where you can purchase new and designer dresses that have been worn once. You can try the dresses on before buying and you’ll get a warm glow from doing something for ‘Charidee’.

If you’re a little braver, you can venture online, where there are some fantastic bargains to be had in the ‘pre-loved’ lines. Take a look at some of the ‘For Sale’ forums of the popular wedding websites and you’ll see bridal dresses, veils, tiaras and those Jimmy Choo shoes that you know you want for a fraction of the cost.

5. The Wedding Photography

Many couples feel that photography is a major part of the day and are prepared to pay upwards of £2000 for a beautifully presented wedding album. Photographers have confirmed that it isn’t the actual photography, which is the major part of this expense, but printing and preparation of the formal wedding albums.

Wedding Photography Cost Savings Tip:

Many photographers are prepared to attend your wedding day and then provide you with a DVD of your photos for around £600. With the DVD, you can then use some of the fantastic online services to prepare your own ‘Photo Book’ - costing much less. Or, as many guests will no doubt have digital cameras with them, combine place cards with little notes asking them to share their wedding photos on your online directory.

Another excellent tip for having a photo keepsake of your wedding is to use several Instant Photo Guest Books, which combine Polaroid Instant Photos and hand-written sentiments from your guests. These photo guest books are ready to enjoy the “instant” your wedding is over — and creating them adds great fun to the wedding reception!

Helen Rankin, Founder of Instant Forever — http://www.instantforever.com/ and distributor of Adesso Albums in the UK and Europe, helps you capture your wedding memories forever. The Adesso Album is the only guest book alternative that captures your wedding event in an Instant in both pictures and words, and preserves it Forever. Capture your wedding in an instant with a Wedding Photo Guest Book

When to Run Screaming From a Wedding Vendor

by Renae Judkins

If a bride doesn’t have the money for a wedding coordinator, she will have to fend for herself in the vendor world. She can search online and make phone calls, but she will still be racked with anxiety that the vendors she hires will not show up on the big day or worse … they’ll show up with an embarrassing product or service.

Here are some signs of a bad wedding vendor:

1. No Receipt
If a wedding vendor doesn’t provide a receipt for a product, don’t waste your time. Of course an exception to this rule is friends and family who are providing the wedding product or service, but even then you want to be careful. Hire a professional if you don’t know if your friends and / or family are up to the task.

2. Doesn’t supply a clear contract
The way a vendor handles the contract is the same way they will handle your wedding day. If a wedding vendor doesn’t provide a contract at all, gives you one that looks like a five-year-old wrote it, or says simply, “we don’t need one,” that should be a foreshadow of things to come. Anyone who has a legitimate wedding business should be able to provide a quality written, legible contract in a timely fashion.

3. Doesn’t answer your questions
If a wedding vendor seems more interested in getting paid than your wedding day, get out and get out now. Don’t expect all wedding vendors to be sensitive and caring to the point of tears, that’s what your parents are for, but do expect them to care about their service to you and your satisfaction. If they brush off your questions or make you feel belittled because you asked them, they will not care about your satisfaction on your wedding day.

4. Bad communication
The way wedding vendors answer their phones and return calls and e-mails immediately shows whether a vendor is a winner or not. If you have a hard time getting a hold of them, you don’t seem to understand each other or they don’t speak your same language, get someone else. Plenty of great wedding vendors want your business and you should be patient enough to find that perfect fit like you found your perfect mate.

5. Isn’t willing to meet in person
If a wedding vendor isn’t willing to meet in person it can mean a few things. One, their business doesn’t exist; two, they only want your money; three, they are so booked with weddings that they can’t concentrate enough on any single one. Find a wedding vendor who has time for you and understands the importance of meeting in person.

6. Too inexpensive
A wedding vendor that is too inexpensive can be more poisonous to your wedding than if a wedding vendor doesn’t show up at all. This is because, usually wedding vendors who charge little show up but perform poorly or get your instructions wrong. Look for the good deal, but be careful.

These bad vendor signs are just a few out of dozens to watch for. Other signs to look for include: The vendor won’t give referrals, he or she treats you poorly, he or she has a shady location with a P.O. Box, or you start seeing hidden fees.

Choosing A Wedding Dress To Suit You

by Suzy Morrison

With so many different types of wedding dresses to choose from, in hundreds of different styles, colors and fabrics, how do you go about choosing the perfect wedding dress for that special once in a lifetime day? Picking the best dress for your wedding day can be a daunting task!

Firstly, the type of wedding that you are planning will often have the most influence on the dress you pick. If you are planning to have a traditional style of wedding, you may want to have a classic style of wedding dress, but something that will match your personality along with the theme of the wedding.

Secondly, the location of your wedding will have a big influence on your dress style. For example, if you are planning to get married on the beach in a tropical climate, it is important to have the right wedding dress. You may want something more simple and easy to wear when you are standing on a beach or by a swimming pool. Something along the lines of a sundress may work best for your special occasion. You will find that there are plenty of colors and lengths to choose from. You may want to stick with the white or off white, or you may want to add some color to your wedding day and choose a bolder looking dress. The lengths for the beach wedding dresses are different too. Think about whether you want to have a longer ankle length dress or if you want something that will be a little shorter. Something around the knee length may be more appropriate for your wedding day on the beach. It is important for you to feel good and stay cool in your wedding dress.

The time of year is another important factor in the style of dress you choose. If you are getting married in the middle of winter you will want to have something that will keep you warmer, perhaps by looking for something in a thicker material with long sleeves or a cape. There are many options for this style of wedding dress and you will want to take your time and choose one carefully.

If you are getting married in warmer months you may want to go for a strapless wedding gown. This is a choice that is risky for some women, but a perfect choice for others. The important thing is that you feel comfortable in your gown. Alternatively you may want to go for a backless wedding dress. This is a great idea that will be a perfect fit for many women. Some women may even want to go for a lower cut neckline so that they can show off a little cleavage. It is up to you to make the decision and be true to your personal style for your wedding dress. Do not be afraid to ask for what you want and to go for it. You only get married once and this is your day to be creative and to show off your style and personal taste.

Often a woman will not want to have the traditional white wedding gown. They will want to add some fun and color to their wedding and their dress is the perfect place to start. There is no law that states that a wedding dress has to be white! Some brides will feel more comfortable in a dress that is off white or pale pink. Others will want to have something a little bolder. They may want to have a yellow, blue or even red wedding dress. This is totally up to the bride and she should choose something that reflects her personality and flatters her figure. Make sure you visit a few different bridal shops, try on a wide selection of styles and colors and be sure to take your time in choosing the most important dress of your life!
